History
The
HCHDC (Hardcore Hood Down Crew) was formed by Mr Freak, of the MG-rover.org forum. The first
discussions of a club with presidents etc, was mooted in July 2003,
where MG_Deano (now known as just Deano) was nominated as
vice-president (Link).
HCHDC means that as a soft top car owner, you actually ENJOY driving it in extreme weathers, even if you get wet, and more crucially get funny looks from other drivers. Driving in rain at 2am, or in the snow on a cool crisp winter morning...all highly thrilling and ..well...you have no roof, so why not!. Clearly in UK you ca't be expected to have your hood down 24/7, 365 days a year , but as long as you actually ENJOY some HCHDC moments, then you are welcome to join. At the end of the day, we all share the same cars, and should all enjoy them.
They had an ever-growing club leading to an official HCHDC Calendar for 2004, featuring a members car for each month of 2004.
